Q1.  Why should I enroll at OLGC?

A1.  OLGC is affiliated with the Dr. Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center (VRPMC) formerly Polymedic General Hospital, the first ISO 9001 certified hospital in Metro Manila.

     ● Its is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)

     ● Students are assured of proper and correct exposure to the real world of hospital work and potential employment after graduation should they decide to stay in the country.

     ● The college utilizes a very objective entrance exam and a computerized enrolment system.

     ● Facilities include an interactive laboratory and equipment that are the latest in technology.

     ● The faculty is composed of experts in the academe and the medical practice.

     ● The school has an affordable and reasonable tuition fee.

     ● OLGC is affiliated with hospitals abroad.

     ● An AHSE certificate is awarded after two years.

     ● Located near EDSA, behind VRPMC (Formerly Polymedic Hospital), the school is very accessible to commuters.

Q2.  What are the requirements for Admission and Enrollment?

A2.  A prospective applicant must be a high school graduate who has not officially enrolled in any post secondary course in any school. He/She should present the following:

a.   Original copy of  Form 138 (student’s report card properly accomplished and signed by the school’s director or principal issuing it.)

b.   General Average of 80%.

c.   Certified true copy of Birth Certificate.

d.   Latest 2x2 photograph ( 6 copies). 

e.   Certificate of good moral character by the principal or guidance counselor.

f.    Barangay clearance.

And must undergo the following:

a.   Take college entrance exam

b.   Interview with the dean

c.   Medical/Dental exam c/o VRPMC

Q3.  How do I register and enroll?

A3.  As a rule, your registration in the College indicates your complete willingness to follow all the rules and regulations of the College. Registration is the first step in enrolling and consists of selecting the subject you want to take. The following are the general guidelines on registration and enrollment.

      I. Announcements 

Announcements with regard to registration and enrollment are posted on the bulletin boards. Please make sure that you read the contents of the bulletin boards regularly.

      II. Enlistment

Obtain an enlistment form (Please read the bulletin board as to where you can get such form). List down the corresponding subjects that you will take for the specific semester in the enlistment form. Fill up the personal info sheet at the back of the enlistment form (important). Proceed to advising window.

      III. Advising

The adviser (window #1) will assess the previous grades of the students to determine if the student can take all subjects listed on the enlistment form (he/she should present his/her grades to the enrolment adviser). If approved then student will proceed to the registrar window. If not, student will be advised to enroll only in the subjects that he can take. If he failed a prerequisite subject then he will not be allowed to take the next subject stated in the curriculum.

      IV. Registration

The registrar (window #2) will enlist all subjects that are found in the enlistment form. Registrar will keep the enlistment form. Registrar will print registration certificate/assessment form. Give the registration certificate/assessment form to the student. Student will proceed to the accounting window

      V. Accounting

The cashier (window #3) will check the exact amount to be paid. The student should pay the amount indicated in the registration certificate/assessment form. Provisional receipt will be issued.

A student is officially enrolled once he/she registers and pays his/her tuition and other fees according to the selected mode of payment. A student cannot be present at any class unless he is officially enrolled in the said class. Credits will not be given, even if the final examination is taken.

Q4.  What is your policy on Transferees?

A4.  Transferees may be admitted to the College upon satisfying all the requirements prescribed for such student applicants.

1.  Classification:

  1. Transferees without credits refer to applicants who have attended a Higher Education Institution (HEI) but waive all subjects previously taken from other HEI’s.  However, upon discretion of the Dean, P.E. and NSTP subjects may be credited.
  1. Transferees with credits refer to applicants who have attended HEI.  Subjects previously taken may be credited but should not exceed 24 units.

2.  Procedures and Guidelines

1.       The Registrar:

a.  Holds an initial interview with the applicant to determine his/her suitability for acceptance.

b.  Evaluates academic records as to:  no failure in required subjects for curricular program in OLGC; weighted average; number of units previously taken.

c.  Checks the subject descriptions of subjects previously taken.

d.  Recommends the applicant to take the qualifying examination.

2.       The Dean:

a.  Evaluates the academic records to determine which subjects are to be credited. Credited subjects should not exceed 24 units.  Major professional subjects are not to be credited.

b.  Interviews the applicant having the results of the entrance exam as reference.

c.  Recommends the student to undergo medical/dental exam c/o VRPMC.

3.       The Applicant:

a.   Presents certificate of transfer credential and academic records to the Registrar in duplicate copies.

b.  Takes the qualifying examination, as recommended by the Registrar, after payment of the necessary fee to the cashier.

c.  Follows the current curriculum for the program he/she is applying for in case he/she qualifies for admission.
